Pixar plans to make a new Cars movie in the future

Today (December 28), Pixar Creative Director Jay Ward said in a recent interview that Pixar is planning to make a new Cars movie. According to Ward, he is working on multiple projects of the IP at the same time, but they will only be released in a few years. The creative director did not reveal any other details.

The latest installment, Cars, was released in 2017, and the entire main trilogy has grossed $1.4 billion. The series has also produced spin-offs, TV series and short films. Disney CEO Bob Iger has repeatedly stated that the company will rely on well-known franchises, so the development of the Cars series fits in with its strategy.
