Director James Wan, who is best known for his horror films, said he wanted to return to his roots and make a horror movie after his latest superhero film, Aquaman: Fallen Kingdom. He told Collider: "You know, I like to go back and forth a lot. So every time I make a small movie, I want to go make a big movie. And every time I make a big movie, I'm like, 'Oh, I want to go make a small movie now,' and when I make a small movie like that, it tends to be a horror movie. So, I feel like the desire for horror movies might be calling me, but I don't know." Despite his prolific output, James Wan has only directed two horror films in the past decade, 2021's Malevolent and 2016's The Conjuring 2. In between, he's tried his hand at big-budget movies like Furious 7 and Aquaman. Aquaman: Fallen Kingdom is set to be released on December 20. |
