"Squid Game" reality show contestant claims to be injured during filming and demands compensation or sue

Netflix is riding on the popularity of the South Korean drama Squid Game to film a reality show called Squid Game: Challenge. Some contestants are now claiming they were injured during the filming of the show and are threatening to sue Netflix and the producers.

Express Solicitors, a British personal injury law firm representing the two unnamed contestants, said the contestants suffered hypothermia and neurological damage while filming in freezing conditions in the UK.

In a press statement, the firm said it had sent a letter of claim to Studio Lambert, the co-producer of Netflix's Squidward Gauntlet.

The contestants' allegations relate to their experiences filming the show's opening game, "Stop on Red, Go on Green," in which contestants must avoid the attention of a robotic doll. Filming took place during a cold snap in the UK at Cardington Studios, a former RAF base in Bedford. Netflix has now confirmed that three of the 456 players required medical attention.

The agency said the client risked his health by having to remain motionless for long periods of time during the shoot in order to maintain his eligibility to compete.

A spokesperson for Squidward: The Challenge said: "No lawsuit has been filed by Squidward contestants. We take the welfare of our contestants very seriously."
