The film adaptation of "Bad Guys" will be produced by professionals but will be faithful to the original work

At Sony's CES 2025 press conference earlier this month, PlayStation announced that the "Bad Divers" series will be adapted into a live-action movie, which will be produced by Sony Pictures. When answering fan questions at X, Johan Pilestedt, the game director of "Bad Divers 2", talked about whether developer Arrowhead Studios would be involved in the film production.

Johan Pilestedt was asked on X whether Arrowhead Studios staff would be involved in the production of the film to ensure it remained faithful to the original, and he subsequently confirmed in his response that Arrowhead Studios would be involved in some capacity, but he also admitted that the staff at their studio knew nothing about making movies, and therefore, other more experienced people would need to take the lead in the adaptation.

Johan Pilestedt said: "I have been avoiding this question. The short answer is yes, the long answer is, we will wait and see. We are not Hollywood people, we don't know what it takes to make a movie. Therefore, we don't have and shouldn't have the final say."

The film adaptation of "Bad Lone Ranger" is one of the many live-action film projects currently underway at PlayStation. Other film projects include: "Days Gone", "Ghost of Tsushima", "Horizon: Zero Dawn", "Gravity Rush", "Until Dawn", etc.
