Master Chief is no longer a virgin! The live-action series of "Halo" has attracted criticism from fans

The Halo live-action series has made a lot of major changes to the world and plot established by the Halo games, and Episode VIII seems to be the biggest change made to the Halo games. It looks like the Master Chief just lost his virginity. (Note: The following contains spoilers for the Halo TV series)

This is a major departure from the Halo games, in which John-117 is depicted as an abstinent super soldier who only displays a sentimental attachment to his holographic companion Cortana. He has never had any sexual experience, a fact that is due to him being kidnapped as a child to join the Spartan program.

The Halo TV series didn't strictly follow this premise in the first season, with Pablo Schreiber's Master Chief frequently removing his helmet to process a large number of memories and emotions after encountering a Forerunner artifact, which also happened to be the reason for John's sexual encounter in Episode 8.

The series introduces a new character - Charlie Murphy's Makee, a human abducted by the Covenant at a young age and raised to become a powerful figure in the Covenant. John and Makee appear to be the only beings in the galaxy capable of interacting with the artifact. After experiencing a shared vision of the mysterious Halo Station in Episode 6, the two characters "succumb to the surge of hormones" and have sex in Episode 8. To make things even stranger, Cortana watches the whole thing.

This plot twist has already drawn criticism and anger from Halo fans. Not only is the idea of the Master Chief having sex difficult for some to accept, but Episode VIII also used the Master Chief and Makee's romance to set the stage for the series' version of "The Fall of Reach." While she was torn between her new love for John-117 and her loyalty to the Covenant, Makee ultimately chose the latter and sent the Covenant the location of Reach. Because he mistakenly trusted Makee, the Master Chief would have blood on his hands.

Forbes writer Paul Tassi said he doesn't care about spoilers, but the world must know the bloody plot of the "Halo" TV series:

In this week's episode of Halo, the Master Chief had sex with a human Covenant spy prisoner while Cortana watched, which directly triggered the events of "The Fall of Reach".
