Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Spin-off Announced: Former Doctor and Companions Return

The BBC has announced a new Doctor Who spin-off series called Tales of the TARDIS.

The series will be launched on BBC iPlayer on November 1st and is a new 6-part series that will reunite the beloved classic Doctor Who and their companions on a special TARDIS (the time machine in the series) and embark on a nostalgic journey through time and space.

According to the official plot introduction, many classic actors of "Doctor Who" will return to their original roles and form partners to embark on a journey of memory time. The partners will recall their adventures and discover some new things, giving fans some new understanding of the stories of these partners.

The series is the first official new content from the newly announced 'Whoniverse' - the official name and dedicated title for all future Doctor Who shows to be broadcast on BBC iPlayer.
