Da Qi, actor who played King Zhou in "Investiture of the Gods", dies at the age of 90

On September 28, actor Dach died of cardiopulmonary failure in Melbourne, Australia at the age of 90. As an actor, Dach's role as King Zhou in the TV series "Investiture of the Gods" is a screen memory for a generation.

Daqi was born in Huaide County, Fufeng Mountain, Jilin Province. His original name was Qi Fujun. He graduated from Changchun Post and Telecommunications Vocational School. In 1953, Daqi joined the Harbin Railway Art Troupe (the predecessor of the China Railway Art Troupe) and became a professional drama actor. In 1956, Daqi won the Young Artist Award at the 11th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival for his performance in "Border Village Fire".

In 1961, Da Qi was officially transferred from the Railway Art Troupe to the Changchun Film Studio to become a professional film actor. In 1979, the color feature film "Ji Hongchang" (Part 1 and Part 2) starring Da Qi was rated as one of the best feature films in the third popular film "Hundred Flowers Award". In 1990, he gained attention for playing the role of King Zhou in the costume drama "Investiture of the Gods". After 1990, Da Qi settled in Australia and became the vice chairman of the Oceania Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
