"Barbie"'s four-year North American box office streak ended by "Blue Beetle"

Barbie's four-game winning streak at the North American box office has come to an end, as DC's new film Blue Beetle has taken the top spot. Unfortunately, the film's North American box office performance was not ideal, with only $25.4 million.

In terms of overseas markets, "Blue Beetle" earned 18 million US dollars in 64 overseas markets, with a total box office of 43.4 million US dollars.

"Blue Beetle", which received a score of 7 from IGN, had a domestic opening box office lower than "Suicide Squad"'s $26.2 million, "Shazam 2"'s $30.1 million, and "Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn"'s $30 million, but exceeded "Wonder Woman: 1984"'s $16.7 million, but the latter was released during the epidemic and landed on HBO Max on the same day.

As for the Barbie movie, its fifth week of North American box office was $21.5 million and international box office was $26.7 million. The North American box office was only down 36% from last week, which shows that there are still a large number of people flocking to the cinema to watch the Barbie movie. Currently, the total box office of the Barbie movie is $1.26 billion.

"Oppenheimer" ranked third in the box office in its fifth week, with North American box office of 10.6 million US dollars, international box office of 32 million US dollars, and total box office of 717 million US dollars.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Revenge of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" took fourth place with $8.43 million and a global box office of $118 million.
