Story summary:

Alchemy is the art of creating "gold" by combining different substances. One of the mysterious studies also includes attempts to artificially breed organisms. In "Kamen Rider Gotchad", the stage is the modern era where those experiments succeeded without anyone knowing.

The key to the story is the "artificial life form (monster) Keme" created by combining the highest technology of alchemy. Keme is a life form that imitates everything in the world, such as grasshoppers and SL (steam locomotives). There are 101 of them, and they are kept in a card called Ridkemecard. However, the Keme, which was kept strictly, suddenly jumped out of the card and was opened together. The protagonist is a high school student, Ichinose Tatarō, who was accidentally involved in the incident. Tatarō was entrusted with a transformation belt and was given the mission of retrieving the escaped Keme.

By inserting two Knight Cards into the Gotchard Driver, Taro fuses with Komi and transforms into Kamen Rider Gotchard. Komi will become a companion to humans and is an inspiring existence as long as he resonates with kindness. On the other hand, if Komi combines with human malice, there is a danger of creating a monster, Margan, and he has the nature of good and evil inside and out.

In the story, there are 101 cards that are combined in a strange way, which makes Gachad transform into various forms. Baotaro's catchphrase is "Kacha!" This is English slang, which means "done" or "caught". Baotaro runs around to "catch" all 101 kamis.
