'The Boys' spin-off 'V Generation' to premiere on Amazon in September

According to Variety, Amazon's streaming platform Prime Video recently confirmed that "Gen V", a spin-off of "The Boys", will premiere on September 29, with the first three episodes airing, followed by one episode per week, and the first season finale on November 3.

Filming has wrapped on Season 4 of Amazon's The Boys, but the ongoing strike by the writers and actors' unions has affected Amazon's plans to promote Generation V at this year's Comic-Con with its cast and creators.

The premiere date and new character posters have been released. The first trailer is expected to be released on July 24.

Amazon's "V Generation" plot introduction is as follows:

“From the world of The Boys, Generation V explores how the first generation of super heroes are trained to understand Compound V and infuse it with their powers. These young, competitive heroes put their abilities to the test as they compete for the top ranking in the school. They quickly learn that with ambition comes sacrifice, and that the distinction between right and wrong isn’t as clear as they once believed.”

"V" is produced by Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, who serve as showrunners and executive producers with creator Eric Kripke. The series is the third spinoff of Amazon's "The Boys" series.
