The first edition of "New Treasure Island", a masterpiece by Osamu Tezuka, who is recognized as the undisputed god of comics in Japan, was recently sold at a high price of 7.2 million yen, sparking heated discussions. This book once inspired many later masters of the animation industry, including Fujiko F. Fujio, Hayao Miyazaki and others.

This masterpiece "New Treasure Island" was first printed and published in 1947. Against the backdrop of a general shortage of materials in post-war Japan at that time, it was Osamu Tezuka's first short comic book collection as a cartoonist.
