Shueisha recently announced that as of May 31, the circulation of the popular manga "My Little Pony: The Child I Push" by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokogawa has exceeded 9 million copies. Before the TV anime adaptation of the manga started airing, the manga sold 4.5 million copies in March. Since the anime aired, the manga's circulation has doubled in less than two months. Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Yokogura Mengo (Scum's Wish) began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump in April 2020. The 11th volume of the manga was published on March 17, and the 12th volume will be released on July 19. The manga ranked first at the 7th Next Popular Manga Awards in 2021, and won the Best Comprehensive Manga Award at the 46th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2022. In addition to this, it was nominated for the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Award, as well as the 14th and 15th Taisho Prizes for Manga. The TV anime adaptation premiered on April 12. |
