HBO exec: There's no guarantee there will be a third season of The Last of Us

According to HBO script supervisor Francesca Orsi, they cannot guarantee that there will be a third season of "The Last of Us". Although they have some ideas for the third season, they must push it forward season by season.

Francesca Orsi said: "I think Craig and Neil are still thinking about where they will end. We have heard that there are ideas for a third season of the series, but at the moment we are only considering one season at a time. There is no guarantee that there will be a third season, but I know they have ideas for a third season."

Due to the impact of the Writers Guild of America strike, the production of the second season of "The Last of Us" has been temporarily shelved. HBO previously stated that the show will be launched in 2025.
