'Super Mario Bros. Movie' surpasses 'Frozen' at global box office

The animated film "Super Mario Bros. Movie", adapted from Nintendo's well-known game characters, has been released for nearly two months. Although the film has performed averagely at the domestic box office, in the global market, this animated film produced by Illumination Entertainment has surpassed "Frozen" to become the second animated film, currently second only to "Frozen 2".

According to foreign media statistics, the global box office revenue of "Super Mario Bros. Movie" has reached 1.288 billion US dollars, including 560 million US dollars in the United States and 727 million US dollars overseas. Although the new animated film directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic has received mixed reviews, and even many professional film critics have given negative reviews due to problems with the film's plot, "Super Mario Bros. Movie" has successfully attracted audiences of all ages, surpassing mature animated films such as "Toy Story" and "Shrek the Monsters".
