Star Trek: Area 31 starring Michelle Yeoh to start filming this year

Sina Film reported today (April 19) that Paramount has officially approved a new "Star Trek" movie: "Star Trek: Area 31" starring Michelle Yeoh, which is an original production for the streaming media Paramount+.

Previously, "Area 31" was developing a related TV series, and now it has been confirmed to become a movie. Michelle Yeoh will return to play Queen Philippa Georgiou after "Star Trek: Discovery". As the name suggests, the story focuses on the mysterious Area 31, and is scheduled to start filming this year.

Earlier, Michelle Yeoh said in an interview: "Area 31 belongs to the Star Trek universe, but it is very different. It's like Mission Impossible meets Guardians of the Galaxy in space. I'm very happy to play Captain Georgiou. I'm sure she will set foot on territories that no woman has ever set foot on."
