The super popular animated film "Slam Dunk" will be released in theaters nationwide on April 20. Today, the final grand prize of the "42nd Fujimoto Award" organized by the Japan Film and Drama Culture Association was awarded to the original author, screenwriter and director of the new animated film "Slam Dunk" Toshiyuki Matsui, and "One Piece: The Red-Haired Diva" won a special award.

The Fujimoto Award is organized by the Japan Film and Drama Culture Association. This year is the 42nd year. The award aims to select and commend the main producers of films that have been well received by the audience, have excellent entertainment value and influence among the films released in the past year.

The 42nd Fujimoto Prize will be awarded from January 2022 to the end of March 2023. This year, many classic and popular works appeared. After defeating strong opponents such as Makoto Shinkai's "Suzuya's Journey" and "One Piece: The Red-Haired Diva", the new animated film "Slam Dunk" successfully won the grand prize.
