The second season of the HBO series "The Last of Us" is still in the script writing stage and will not be released too soon

According to Deadline, a film and entertainment website, Craig Mazin, the writer and director of the HBO series "The Last of Us", recently stated at the NAB Show Live in Las Vegas that the second season of the series is still in the script writing stage.

Mazin also confirmed that season 2 will be filmed in British Columbia, Canada, but beyond that, Mazin wouldn't reveal many more details, but he did tease that the series has more stories to tell and that it will continue to move forward as planned after season 2. "Our plan is not just to do one more season, we're going to wait a while," Mazin said.

Previously, Naughty Dog President Neil Druckmann has confirmed that the second season of The Last of Us HBO series will include the plot of The Last of Us 2, but we don't know whether the second season will cover the entire game or just part of it. Both Mazin and Druckmann have said that the content of the HBO series will not go beyond the plot of the game, and so far, there is no The Last of Us 3 game, so the HBO series may end with the second part, at least for now.
