The classic fighting game Street Fighter is getting a new live-action movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Legendary Pictures has acquired the live-action movie and TV adaptation rights for Street Fighter and will work with Capcom on future projects. No official specific news has been announced yet, but Street Fighter fans can expect to see a new live-action Street Fighter movie as early as sometime in 2024. Hollywood has made Street Fighter into a movie many times before, but the response was not good. Legendary Pictures previously released the "Detective Pikachu" and "Warcraft" adaptations, and although neither of these two films was a huge success, they managed to attract a lot of attention from the audience. People are now demanding more and more from adapted dramas, and hopefully Legendary Pictures can find the right balance in the "Street Fighter" project to satisfy fans. |
