The New York Times reported today that Disney has fired Isaac Perlmutter, chairman and CEO of Marvel Entertainment. It is reported that Marvel Entertainment and Marvel Studios are two separate departments. Marvel Studios focuses on popular superhero movies and is headed by President Kevin Feige, while Marvel Entertainment is responsible for the comic company's publishing business and other consumer products. Isaac Perlmutter has been working at Marvel since 1993, briefly serving as CEO and producing feature films. Earlier, Disney head Bob Iger said that he was forced to remove Isaac Perlmutter from the production of movie comics a few years ago because Isaac Perlmutter wanted to fire Kevin Feige. As of press time, Isaac Perlmutter has not commented on his departure from Marvel Entertainment. |
