Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's "Little Girl at the Window" will be adapted into an animated film and released in winter 2023

Today (March 20), it was decided that Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's "The Little Girl at the Window" will be adapted into an animated film, which is expected to be released in winter 2023. Yakuma Shinnosuke, the director of the "Doraemon" movie series, will serve as the director and screenwriter of this film. Shizue Kaneko, an animator of the "Doraemon" movie series, will serve as the character designer and chief animation supervisor. It will be produced by SHIN-EI Animation.

"Little Bean at the Window" is a children's literature work created by Japanese writer and host Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, and was first published in 1981. This book tells a true story of the author's elementary school days: After being expelled from her original school for being naughty, Little Bean came to Ba School. Under the care and guidance of Principal Kobayashi, Little Bean, who was considered "weird" by ordinary people, gradually became a child that everyone could accept. The friendly and easy-going teaching methods of Ba School allowed the children here to spend the best time of their lives.
