Sina Film reported today (March 15) that the female lead for the American version of "A Better Tomorrow" directed and produced by John Woo has been decided: Nathalie Emmanuel ("Game of Thrones" and "Fast and Furious") will join the cast, and she will star alongside Omar Sy ("The Intouchables"). The film will be available on streaming service Peacock. The old version of "Hard Boiled" was released in 1989, starring Chow Yun-fat, Danny Lee, Sally Yeh and Zhu Jiang. It tells the story of a killer who accidentally injured a singer and caused her blindness while on a mission. In order to raise money for her treatment, he took on another mission, but unexpectedly his employer betrayed him. On the way to being chased, he met a detective who was ordered to investigate. The two of them sympathized with each other and formed an alliance to fight against the gang. The American version was written by Matthew Stocken & Josh Campbell (10 Cloverfield Lane), Elan Creevey (Hutchins), and Brian Helgeland (Legend), and the plot has not been revealed. |
