Ever since reports surfaced that Chris Evans would be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the upcoming Avengers: Endgame, there has been a lot of speculation and discussion. Fans have been discussing what role he might play and whether it was a good idea for him to join the returning Robert Downey Jr. in Endgame in the first place. However, his participation was already known to everyone and it certainly generated a lot of buzz. Evans has been a key figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years, starring in the Captain America trilogy and playing a vital role in several other films in the franchise as one of the main characters. Fans seem excited to see him return to the Marvel Universe, and now, news has revealed the role he will reportedly be playing. Audiences have been speculating about who Evans will play in Avengers: Endgame. They want to know if he will pick up the shield again and reprise his role as Captain America, or if he will play a completely different character. According to industry insider Jeff Snyder, Evans will play the role of "Nomad". He said: "I have heard who this character is. I was just chatting today and someone mentioned it. It's Nomad." In the comics, "Wanderer" is an alias used by Steve Rogers after he gave up the uniform and title of "Captain America". In that story, Rogers felt that he was no longer aligned with the government and could no longer serve his country, so he adopted the identity of "Wanderer". However, there is no guarantee that Marvel will follow this storyline in "Avengers: Doomsday". Even if he plays "Wanderer", there may be a different plot direction, but the role he will play is definitely "Wanderer". Audiences haven't seen Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Avengers: Endgame, when he time-traveled to return all the Time Stones and live a full life with Peggy Carter, something he couldn't do in his original life. However, it hasn't been too long since audiences last saw Evans in the Marvel Universe, as he made a cameo in Deadpool vs. Wolverine, a movie full of returning Marvel veterans where Evans played his original Fantastic Four superhero character Johnny Storm, but in that timeline, he ultimately died. Evans playing Nomad is an interesting idea, and one that might fit the current story better than bringing him back via the multiverse. It would allow him to return as Rogers himself, but with a slight twist, and would also ensure that the new Captain America could appear in the film with him. This would be very different from Downey's role, as Doctor Doom is nothing like his previous roles, but the plot is still under wraps, so there's no guarantee that Nomad will be a heroic character in Avengers: Endgame. |
