The Mortal Kombat reboot is set to be released on March 5, 2021

We have previously reported that the "Mortal Kombat" reboot will start filming in South Australia, produced by Chinese-American director James Wan, and produced and distributed by Warner and New Line Cinema. Warner announced that the "Mortal Kombat" reboot will be officially released on March 5, 2021.

The rebooted version of the "Mortal Kombat" movie will be filmed in Adelaide, the fifth largest city in Australia and the capital of South Australia. It is reported that this new "Mortal Kombat" movie has been in preparation for a long time and will be directed by Australian advertising director Simon McQuoid. This will be his film debut.

The IP of "Mortal Kombat" has launched film works a long time ago. The first one was shot in 1995 by Paul WS Anderson, who later directed the "Resident Evil" movie. It grossed 120 million US dollars (about 830 million yuan) worldwide. Unfortunately, the box office of the second film in the series, "Annihilation" (1997), declined, with a global box office of 51 million US dollars (about 350 million yuan).

The Mortal Kombat reboot is set to hit theaters on March 5, 2021.
