Silent Hill 2 movie adaptation may have major plot changes

Last year, Konami announced that the movie "Return to Silent Hill" was in production, adapted from the story of the game "Silent Hill 2" and directed by the original "Silent Hill" movie director Christophe Gans. Now according to foreign media Thegamer, the movie "Return to Silent Hill" may have a major plot change compared to "Silent Hill 2".

A German film website leaked the plot synopsis of the movie "Return to Silent Hill", which describes James Sunderland returning to Silent Hill to find Mary Crane. In the original game, James was looking for his wife Mary Shepherd Sutherland, which indicates that the movie either simply changed the name or the two are not the same person.

In addition, the synopsis mentions a name that Silent Hill fans have never heard of - Jacob Crane. It is not clear what the relationship between this character and Mary Crane is. Perhaps he is a supernatural character?

The synopsis also revealed at the end that Jeremy Irvine, an actor who has appeared in films such as "War Horse" and "Great Expectations", will play James Sunderland.
