Christopher Nolan and his wife knighted by the King of England

Christopher Nolan and his wife, Emma Thomas, will soon be in for another kind of awards season, after his film Oppenheimer made a splash at the Oscars, winning seven of 13 nominations.

According to Sky News, Nolan, the director known for such films as The Dark Knight trilogy and The Prestige, will be knighted by King Charles III of England and become Sir Christopher Nolan. Lady Emma Thomas, also a producer in Hollywood, will be given the title of Dame.

The title of knight is a prestigious honor in the UK, usually awarded to "people who have made significant contributions in their respective fields, especially at the national level." Famous celebrities who have been knighted include Anthony Hopkins, Patrick Stewart and other famous British actors.

Nolan's career stretches back to the 1990s, and he deserves to be recognized for his achievements. He has directed many films that are considered modern classics, and Oppenheimer is destined to become one of them. It ranks second only to The Dark Knight on IGN's list of Christopher Nolan's films.

It is not yet clear when Nolan and Thomas will accept their knighthoods. Other recipients include DeepMind CEO and co-founder Dr. Demis Hassabis and Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos. In the meantime, Oppenheimer is now streaming on the Peacock platform.
