Screen Actors Guild strike will not affect the filming of the second season of "House of the Dragon"

Screen Actors Guild strike will not affect the filming of the second season of "House of the Dragon"

Variety magazine reported today (July 14) that the American actors' union SAG-AFTRA announced that the strike will not affect the filming of the second season of Game of Thrones.

It is reported that the cast of "House of the Dragon" is mainly composed of British actors who signed the contract with the participation of Equity, the British actors' union. Although Equity, a British actors' union consisting of about 47,000 people, has previously expressed support for SAG colleagues, members of the British actors' union cannot go on strike to support SAG - this is also not allowed by British law.

If an actor working in the UK decides to join the protest, his union will not be able to offer any protection. The producers will be free to sue him for breach of contract. The UK actors' union is advising all SAG-AFTRA members working on UK projects to continue working, regardless of what kind of contract they are under. Anyone who has doubts about whether they should strike is advised to contact SAG leaders.

The production of the second season of "House of the Dragon" was not affected by the Writers Guild strike, as all scripts were completed when filming began. However, the writers of the scripts will not be able to make changes during production.

It is reported that many film and television show creators are ready to completely stop filming in the event of a protest by the Screen Actors Guild. According to Variety's insider news, the studio has planned to stop the production of "Gladiator 2" and "Mortal Kombat 2" during the strike.
