Renren Video was sued by Netflix, Sony, Disney and other overseas film and television companies

According to Tianyancha, recently, Shanghai Zhongdumei Network Technology Co., Ltd., a parent company affiliated with Renren Video, has added several court opening notices. The cases involve "copyright ownership and infringement disputes" and "infringement of information network dissemination rights of works". The plaintiffs include Universal Content Productions, Sony Pictures Television, Warner Bros. Entertainment, 20th Century Fox Film Corporation, Netflix Global Entertainment, Disney Enterprises and many other overseas film and television companies.

Tianyancha shows that Shanghai Zhongzhuomei Network Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2014 with a registered capital of approximately RMB 2.5981 million. The legal representative is Zhou Weimin. It owns 31 software copyrights including "American drama TV, Korean drama TV, Japanese drama TV, Thai drama TV".

In 2021, the company's product "Renren Video" received strategic financing from Xiaomi Group and Kuaishou.
