The total box office of the Spring Festival in China exceeded 6 billion: "The Wandering Earth 2" and "Man Jiang Hong" topped the list

As of 22:36 on January 26, 2023, the total box office of the 2023 Spring Festival (January 21 to January 27) set a new record, exceeding 6 billion yuan.

"Man Jiang Hong", "The Wandering Earth 2" and "Boonie Bears: Big Big Wolf" still ranked the top three in the Spring Festival box office, and the box office of the first two films exceeded 1.9 billion yuan.

Among them, the box office of "Man Jiang Hong" was 2.27 billion yuan, setting a new record. Since January 24, it has surpassed "The Wandering Earth" and has remained the box office champion of the Spring Festival.

This work also became the highest-grossing film released in mainland China by 72-year-old director Zhang Yimou. The previous winner was the film "On the Cliff" released in April 2021 (box office of 1.191 billion yuan).

"The Wandering Earth 2" also performed well, with a total box office of 1.93 billion yuan.

Fu Ruoqing, head of China Film Group, said that "The Wandering Earth 2" can be said to be a milestone film in the history of Chinese cinema, reaching the international A+ production level.
