One day, Koji's classmate, Boss, is told by a mysterious robot and a prophet that "The Dark General will destroy the world, but only Mazinger Z can stand up to him." Boss tells Koji this, but Koji, who enjoys peace, laughs it off. However, mysterious giant robots are attacking major cities around the world. They are the combat beast army sent by the Dark General of the Mycenae Empire. Tokyo is also attacked, and Koji deploys Mazinger Z, but has a hard time against the combat beasts. Diana A and the boss robot are no match for them, and Shiro is seriously injured. After that, the combat beast army led by the Beast General appears.
