A Song of Ice and Fire, a series of fantasy novels written by George RR Martin, was first released in 1996. After the fifth volume, A Dance with Dragons, was released in July 2011, the sixth volume, The Winds of Winter, has not yet been released. Recently, George RR Martin expressed his thoughts on the creation of Volume 6 of "A Song of Ice and Fire" in an interview with the foreign media "HollywoodReporter". "Unfortunately, I put it off for 13 years," Martin said. "Every time I say this, I think, 'How did I put it off for 13 years?' I don't know, it happens every day. But it's still a priority. A lot of people are already writing my obituary. (They say) 'Oh, he'll never finish it.' Maybe they're right, I don't know. I'm still alive! I look pretty alive!" For fans and readers of the series, George RR Martin's delay in launching the sixth volume of A Song of Ice and Fire is indeed a bummer, not to mention that Martin also admitted in an interview that he doubted whether he could complete the work. But the good news is that Martin has no plans to retire yet, and he does regard the completion of A Song of Ice and Fire as his most important task at the moment. |
