"The Golden Town of the Burning Sun" series production decision PV:

The story of Made in Abyss describes that on an isolated island surrounded by the sea, there is a huge vertical cave called "The Abyss" with a diameter of about 1,000 meters, which is known as the last secret of mankind. Due to its unknown depth and mystery, the number of people exploring the abyss for various purposes has gradually increased, and people who continue to try adventures are called "cave explorers". "Riko", a cave explorer trainee living in an orphanage, has a stronger yearning for the abyss than anyone else, and her goal is to become a great cave explorer like her mother one day. During one of the explorations, a robot "Reg" with a boy's appearance was discovered, and they embarked on an adventure together.

With the premiere of Made in Abyss: The Golden Country in the Sun in July last year, the official also officially announced today that a sequel animation will be produced. The animation will release more information about the sequel in the future.
