The Last of Us Part II: Abby's role: I am well aware of the controversy surrounding my role

Kaitlyn Dever plays Abby in the second season of the HBO series The Last of Us. She is well aware of the complex emotions surrounding this character among the player community and understands the intense reactions of some players to Abby.

Abby was controversial in The Last of Us 2, and even game director Neil Druckmann and original voice actor Laura Bailey received death threats. Despite this, Dever said that he chose to focus on the creation itself rather than online public opinion when shaping the character. Dever emphasized that she was more focused on collaborating with Neil and series creator Craig Mazin to dig deep into Abby's complex emotional core.
