The Last of Us Part II: Abby's role: I am well aware of the controversy surrounding my role

Kaitlyn Dever plays Abby in the second season of the HBO series The Last of Us. She is well aware of the complex emotions surrounding this character among the player community and understands the intense reactions of some players to Abby.

Abby was controversial in The Last of Us 2, and even game director Neil Druckmann and original voice actor Laura Bailey received death threats. Despite this, Dever said that he chose to focus on the creation itself rather than online public opinion when shaping the character. She said: "Although I have heard these negative voices, my goal is to make fans proud of this character through my performance."

Dever emphasized that she was more focused on collaborating with Neil and series creator Craig Mazin to dig deep into Abby's complex emotional core. She said: "I focused on understanding her driving force, her emotional state - anger, frustration, sadness... making sure these emotional expressions are at the core of the performance."

The second season of The Last of Us covers part of the game content of The Last of Us 2. The team plans to use 3-4 seasons to tell the complete story line, but due to the expansion of the series scale and the extension of the production cycle, the team needs to find a balance between the audience's waiting time and the quality of the content.
