Michelle Yeoh wins Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, from Hong Kong action star to Hollywood actress

Michelle Yeoh won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her role in the movie "Blink", making her the first Asian actress to win the award in 45 years.

Michelle Yeoh, who started her career as a female fighter in Hong Kong films, was awarded the Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy at the 80th Golden Globe Awards held in California, the United States today for her wonderful performance in "Blink", proving her excellent skills and acting skills.

Michelle Yeoh performed in a series of Hong Kong martial arts films in the 1980s and 1990s without a stunt double, including "Royal Sister" in 1985, "Police Story 3: Super Cop" in 1992, and "Seven Princesses of Martial Arts: The Heavenly Sword and the Deadly Blade" in 1993, "The Heroic Trio" and "New Meteor Butterfly Sword" and established her image as a female action star.

In 1997, she played a Bond girl in "007: Tomorrow Never Dies". Later, her delicate performance in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" directed by Ang Lee in 2000 made her nominated for the Best Actress in the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), the "British Oscar", and successfully entered the international market.

Michelle Yeoh then expanded her acting range and took on roles that were different from those of female action stars, such as playing a senior geisha in Memoirs of a Geisha in 2005. In 2018, she took on the role of a wicked mother-in-law in Crazy Rich Asians.
