Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio wins Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature

At the just-concluded 80th Golden Globe Awards, Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio won the Best Animated Film Award.

Adapted from the novel of the same name by Furukawa Hideo, the musical animated film "The Tale of the Heike: Inu-o" directed by Masaaki Yuasa was also nominated for this award. Other nominated works include "Marcel the Shell in Shoes", "Puss in Boots 2" and "The Metamorphosis of Teenage".

"The Tale of the Heike: Inu-o" is one of the few Japanese animated films nominated for the Golden Globe Awards. Previously, Hayao Miyazaki's "The Wind Rises" was nominated for "Best Foreign Language Film" at the 71st Golden Globe Awards, and Mamoru Hosoda's "Mirai" was nominated for "Best Animated Film" at the 76th Golden Globe Awards.
