Big cousin claims to be the first action actress in film history and apologizes after being criticized

Jennifer Lawrence recently told Variety that before she starred in The Hunger Games series, no one in film history was willing to let women star in action movies.

Jennifer Lawrence said: "Before I made "The Hunger Games", no one had ever let a woman star in an action movie because they thought such a film would not be successful - because we have been indoctrinated since childhood that men and women can identify with male protagonists, but men cannot identify with female protagonists. Whenever I see a movie starring a woman come out, I am always happy because it breaks these ideas and proves that deliberately dividing certain ethnic groups and movies and allowing certain people to occupy the position they have always dominated is nothing but a scam."

As soon as this statement came out, many netizens immediately criticized and ridiculed her, accusing her of being narcissistic and ignorant, and not taking seriously those domestic and foreign action actresses who debuted earlier than her. Later, Jennifer Lawrence issued an apology statement through The Hollywood Reporter (THR).

"That was never my point," Jennifer Lawrence explained to The Hollywood Reporter. "I know I'm not the only woman who's starred in an action movie. I was just trying to emphasize how great it is to star in an action movie, and I meant to break those stereotypes that you hear all the time. But that was definitely my mistake, and I misspoke because I was nervous talking to a legendary actress like Davis."

When asked by The Hollywood Reporter whether she had been quoted by the media in the past, Jennifer Lawrence recalled that she had been quoted saying that Donald Trump was responsible for a hurricane, and I thought that was ridiculous and stupid enough that I didn't need to explain it. But this time, I feel like I need to come out and clarify it."
