Toei: A solemn statement regarding the forged authorization letter for "Slam Dunk"

Today (December 8), Toei Animation's official Weibo account released a "Solemn Statement on the Forged Authorization Letter for Slam Dunk". Toei stated, "Our company has never authorized the "Shanghai Mocha Animation Co., Ltd." shown in the authorization letter to use the anime characters in Slam Dunk in any form. At the same time, our company has not authorized any company in China to produce, sell, or promise to sell cards related to the anime characters of Slam Dunk so far."

It is reported that the movie "Slam Dunk THE FIRST SLAM DUNK" is expected to be released in Hong Kong and Macau on January 12, 2023, and in Taiwan on January 13. "Slam Dunk THE FIRST SLAM DUNK" was written and directed by the original author Takehiko Inoue, produced by Toei Animation, and composed by Takebe Satoshi and 10-FEET. It was previously released in Japan on December 3, and the box office has exceeded 1.29 billion yen, with 847,000 viewers.
