Avoiding "Indiana Jones 5"? "The Flash" movie is moved up

Warner Bros. Discovery moves 'The Flash' movie forward.

The Flash movie was originally scheduled to be released on June 23, 2023, but has now been moved up to June 16. This may be to avoid Indiana Jones 5, which will premiere on June 30.

The Flash had a rough time before it hit theaters, from a director search, delays, to lead actor Ezra Miller's legal controversies, including an arrest and an announcement that they would be seeking help for mental health issues.

Miller is a holdover from the DCEU as he played the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. The standalone film has long been expected to adapt the "Flashpoint" storyline and potentially reconfigure the DC Universe.

This alternate timeline could explain why both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton were able to play different versions of Batman in The Flash, a film that also features Sasha Calle as Supergirl.
