There may still be hope for a "Pirates of the Caribbean" spin-off movie starring "Harley Quinn" Margot Robbie. Last month, Robbie told Vanity Fair that the film she was starring in had been canceled by Disney. But now "Pirates of the Caribbean" series producer Jerry Bruckheimer has retracted Robbie's comments. In an interview with Collider, Bruckheimer said that the fate of the female version of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" film has not yet been determined. According to Bruckheimer, there are currently two "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie scripts, but the female version of "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie has been postponed and priority is given to another script of "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie. "I think that script (the female version) will come up at some point in the future, and we have two different stories developed for Pirates of the Caribbean. The other story will go ahead first, so that's what we're working towards, to get that story made." Bruckheimer said that the two "Pirates of the Caribbean" scripts were written at the same time, but Disney finally decided to shoot other "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies first and put the female version of "Pirates of the Caribbean" starring Robbie on hold. The female version of "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie was announced in the summer of 2020. In May this year, Bruckheimer said in an interview with the Sunday Times that two "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies were in production. |
