Peacock's Chariots of Fire game adaptation series will be more like the comedy movie Zombieland. This series, adapted from Sony's classic PlayStation game of the same name, was announced in 2019 and completed in August this year. In an interview with IGN, PlayStation Studios senior producer Carter Swan talked about how the series will restore the game as much as possible. "You have to have the cars, you have to have the post-apocalyptic setting," Swan said. "There are a lot of characters that we think are great. Obviously, Sweet Tooth is going to be a very iconic character from the show, voiced by Will Arnett, played by wrestler Samoa Joe. He does an incredible job. When you think of this game, the first thing that comes to mind is the ice cream truck, which has been hyped up for years." The series "Chariots of Fire" was created by "Deadpool" screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, and starred Anthony Mackie. Mackie plays an amnesiac outsider who is tasked with delivering a mysterious package across the wasteland. "The creators of the show — Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, Rhett is a huge fan of the game, so really wanted to pull from what they did, that era, that style," Swan told IGN. "They were able to take these violent, ridiculous things and make them fun. Zombieland was a great benchmark for what we could do, if you saw that movie. It was all about finding fun in most post-apocalyptic worlds you can find." |
