More than 130 organizations including LGBTQ groups support Amber: Do not allow netizens to humiliate her

Amber Heard, who was recently appealed by Johnny Depp, suddenly received support from a large number of women's organizations. More than 130 organizations, including Women's March Action, National Organizaton For Women, Aisha Ali-Khan and Panayiota Bertzikis, and the National Women's Law Center, which advocates for the rights of women and LGBTQ people, jointly issued an open letter to oppose netizens' humiliation of Amber.

The open letter stated that the defamation verdict in the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp case has caused deep concern among many professionals who study sexual violence. Those who signed the open letter all believed that the criticism and ridicule of Amber by netizens around the world were all fueled by the social media environment where fake news is rampant and misogyny and biphobia are spreading. Women's accusations of domestic violence and sexual assault have become entertainment for people to ridicule and belittle.

The organizations strongly accused that public opinion has caused many people to misunderstand other victims of domestic violence, and some people have even suffered similar ridicule and suppression. The open letter stated: "We strongly condemn those who publicly humiliated Amber and join the ranks of supporting Amber. We support everyone to report violence and sexual violence from their partners without harassment and intimidation."
