Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comic book adaptation to be released in 2025, includes scenes not seen in the movie

As the final chapter of the new "Star Wars" trilogy, "Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker" was released on December 20, 2019. Marvel originally planned to launch an adapted comic of the same name in May 2020, but the project was shelved due to the epidemic and other reasons.

Five years after the movie was released, Marvel finally announced more information about the comic adaptation of "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker", saying that it will be officially launched in 2025.

It is understood that the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comic will be written by Jody Houser, drawn by Will Sliney, and colored by Guru-EFX colorist. The comic will be serialized in five issues, which will not only include the adapted plot of the original movie, but also add scenes that did not appear in the movie version to expand the storyline.

Marvel editor Mark Paniccia said: “There’s been a resurgence of interest in these characters, especially Kylo Ren, the bloodline heir to Darth Vader. Jodi’s script captures the impact of these iconic moments between heroes and villains in the film, while Will Sliney’s art and Guru-eFX’s dazzling colors bring a unique visual experience to this epic finale.”
