Charlie Cox reveals Marvel considered recasting the title character in Daredevil Season 4

"Daredevil", the first live-action superhero series created by Marvel Television and ABC for Netflix, launched three seasons from April 2014 to October 2018, and the fourth season will be broadcast in March 2025 under the title "Daredevil: Rebirth".

Charlie Cox, who plays the protagonist Matt Murdock in "Daredevil", recently revealed in an interview with foreign media "EmpireOnline" that Marvel had considered reshaping the protagonist in the fourth season of "Daredevil".

Charlie Cox said: "Early on, we discussed re-imagining the whole story to see if Matt was a slightly different person, but in the end it was more like a continuation. A lot of the historical plots have continued, and the relationships and dynamics established in the previous seasons are still there."

It is understood that the planned "Daredevil: Rebirth" will change the direction of the entire "Daredevil" series. The series will be re-imagined as an 18-episode legal procedural drama (the first season of 9 episodes will premiere on March 4, 2025, and the remaining 9 episodes will become the second season), focusing mainly on Matt Murdock's identity as a lawyer, while reducing his role as Daredevil.
