Scarlett Johansson once felt that her acting career was about to end: She was bound by the sexy label

Recently, Scarlett Johansson lamented that she started acting too early while participating in the Armchair Expert podcast. She was labeled as "overly sexy" and was confined to a framework. She even felt that her acting career was about to end.

Scarlett Johansson's acting career began at the age of seven. At that time, she encountered various situations that were "not suitable for my age". Fortunately, her mother was good at protecting her daughter, but she could not be perfect. At the age of 19, Scarlett became famous for "Lost in Translation" and "Girl with a Pearl Earring", and she also felt that she began to "be objectified, stereotyped, and even felt that she could not get the role she wanted. At that time, she thought: "It feels like people think I am 40 years old."

In the early stages of her career, Scarlett benefited from being seen as "mature beyond her years," but she has since struggled with the idea that being overly mature is no longer attractive.

Scarlett recalled: "A lot of people thought I was older than I actually was, and I had been in this industry for a long time, so I was stereotyped in this overly sexy image. At that time, I felt that my acting career was over, like your acting career is basically like this, this is the role you can get, and I said: 'So that's it?'... It made me feel terrible."

The situation is different now. Scarlett said: "Now, I see many actors in their 20s, such as Zendaya and Florence Pugh, who can play all kinds of different things. Times have changed. Thank God, now other actors are not even allowed to be stereotyped like this, right? People are more diverse now."
