Josh Friedman, Patrick Eisen and the previous screenwriters Rick Jaffe and Amanda Silver wrote the script together. The "Planet of the Apes" series has grossed over $1.7 billion worldwide. Adapted from the novel by Pierre Boulle, the first film was a huge success in 1968, followed by four sequels and two TV series. Tim Burton directed the 2001 reboot "Rise of the Planet of the Apes", and the latest version is the "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" film trilogy that began in 2011. |
