"Quicksilver" starring in "Dahmer" has become one of Netflix's most popular American dramas

According to Deadline, "Dahmer: Monster - The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" has quickly become one of the most popular TV series ever on Netflix's streaming platform.

The series stars Evan Peters, who played Quicksilver in X-Men, as the notorious serial killer Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer. The series was watched for an astonishing 299.84 million hours in its first week on Netflix alone.

This makes the series Netflix's second most-watched English-language series in its first week, behind only Stranger Things Season 4, which had 301 million hours of viewing for its Season 4 premiere and 335 million hours for its Part 2 premiere.

The series also surpassed Bridgerton Season 2, which had 252 million hours of viewership.

After just 12 days, Dahmer became the ninth most popular series on Netflix with 496.05 million hours of viewing time. It is now considered one of Netflix's most successful original works along with Squidward and Stranger Things.

With an average of 8.8 hours of total viewing time per household, Dahmer: Monster was viewed by 56 million households in less than two weeks.

The 10-episode series, which stars Peters as a serial killer, is told primarily from the perspective of the victims and explores the police incompetence and indifference that allowed the "Milwaukee Monster" to go on a ruthless killing spree over the years. The series dramatizes at least 10 real-life instances in which Dahmer was nearly captured but ultimately let go.
