The TV series "National Treasure" released posters and stills at D23. The series will soon be launched on Disney+. Its full name is "National Treasure: Edge of History". It is an extension of the film series. It was created by the original film producer Jerry Bruckheimer and screenwriter, and directed by Mira Nair (Vanity Fair). The first season has 10 episodes. Starring Lisette Alexis, it tells the story of Jessie Morales, a 20-year-old Latina woman with big dreams, who embarks on an adventure of a lifetime with her friends to uncover her mysterious family history and find the lost treasure. It will explore current issues such as identity, community, historical authorship and patriotism. Catherine Zeta-Jones plays Billie, a powerful billionaire, black market antiques expert, and self-made treasure hunter who has grown from a penniless orphan to a savvy, stylish businessman and adventurer. Billie must get what she sets her eyes on, and she has a deeper interest in the Pan American treasure than just the money. Justin Bartha will guest-star, reprising his role as computer expert Reilly from the film. |
