Louis Koo's sci-fi film "The Tomorrow War" grossed 41 million on its first day

Louis Koo and Lau Ching Wan starred in "The Battle of Tomorrow" which was officially released on Friday, August 5. The box office on the first day was about 41 million, ranking second on the day. "The Moon Walker" won the championship with 107 million in its second week of release. It took only one week to accumulate a box office of over 1.7 billion.

The market heat dropped significantly after the Chinese Valentine's Day. On Friday, the market fell 58% month-on-month, and the national comprehensive box office dropped sharply to around 160 million. However, the market performance was nearly 100 million higher than the same period last year when the epidemic began to have a greater impact. As of today, the 2022 summer box office has reached 6.37 billion, with a year-on-year increase of about 580 million; the current year-on-year box office decline has also narrowed to around 9.62 billion.

After experiencing the explosion on the "Chinese Valentine's Day", the box office of "Lone Moon" fell 58.3% month-on-month on Friday, and the single-day box office remained above the 100 million mark, up less than 10% from Wednesday; the film's cumulative box office in 7 days has exceeded the 1.7 billion mark, surpassing "Life Events" to top the 2022 summer season championship throne, and also squeezed into the top three of the annual box office.
