The boy was bullied in school, and the male lead of Ant-Man gave him a signed helmet and wrote a letter to comfort him

Paul Rudd, the male lead actor of the Marvel superhero movie "Ant-Man", recently helped a 12-year-old boy who was bullied at school. The boy, named Brody Reed, went viral online in May after Cassandra expressed her pain about her son's experience on social media.

"My poor son. Looks like things aren't getting any better," Cassandra captioned a photo of his nearly empty autograph page. "Only 2 teachers and a total of 2 students signed his yearbook, even though Brody asked various kids to sign it."

A Washington Post article later detailed how older students stepped in to support the Colorado teen. In the article, his mother revealed that her son had been subjected to excessive bullying and had “been through a lot.”

The story caught the attention of Marvel star Paul Rudd, who gave the boy a signed Ant-Man helmet and a handwritten letter. Not only that, he also surprised him with a FaceTime call.

"Anyway, I heard about you," Rudd said in the video. "I'm like, 'I've got to talk to this kid, because this kid sounds like my kind of person.'

"Like chess, like fencing, like dinosaurs... am I right?" he continued; "Well, I'm glad to talk to you, I'm glad to meet you!"

The actor also imparted some wisdom to his new friend, writing him a message following their phone call.

"It's important to remember that even when life is hard, things will get better," he wrote in the letter. "There are so many people who love you and think you are the coolest kid out there — and I am one of them! I can't wait to see all the amazing things you will accomplish."

On the helmet, he wrote: "To my good friend Brody, when he needs to take on the world in the future."
