Producer: The "Ted" series will be consistent with the movie's tone

In April this year, Peacock, a subsidiary of Universal, announced that it would develop a prequel series to the comedy film "Ted". Seth MacFarlane, who voiced Ted in the film, returned to voice the series and served as a co-producer. Recently, MacFarlane said in an interview with foreign media that the series would not only maintain continuity with the film in terms of plot, but also the tone of the R-rated comedy would not change, in order to satisfy fans as much as possible.

Earlier, the series has selected the leading actors: Max Burkholder, Scott Grimes, and Giorgia Whigham have joined. The prequel series is set in 1993, when the protagonist of the movie version, John, was still a 16-year-old boy. His toy teddy bear was with him and his family. The series will have a total of 10 episodes and will be available on the streaming media Peacock.

McFarland said that CGI-produced movies with animal and human interactions are common, but TV series are rarely made, which is quite challenging for creators. In order to give back to fans, the tone and storyline of the series will be consistent with the movie. Even if it is made into a streaming series, many swear words will be retained, just like R-rated comedy movies. For this, McFarland also thanked the Peacock platform for their tolerance.
