Former Disney executive: Hollywood is in crisis because of Black Rock Group's push for DEI

Recently, former Disney TV executive Monica Harris was interviewed about the reasons why Hollywood is facing a crisis. She put the blame for the poor quality of movies in recent years entirely on the fact that studios must comply with DEI initiatives when making movies. The media products produced by those studios are obviously not liked by consumers, and when they make media products for minorities, they are completely at odds with the tastes of the general public.

In the corporate world, people are meticulous about ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) principles and follow them blindly. In media products and employment, it is actually similar to DEI. Therefore, companies pursue marketing strategies that are doomed to fail from the beginning - the movies ultimately fail, which reduces shareholder value, but they continue to do it anyway.

This is because the same core group of companies (BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street) are basically all Fortune 500 companies. Large companies like BlackRock (aka BlackRock) do have complete control over the production of most media products, telling companies what to do when creating and what topics to promote, whether it's a game or a movie.

When these three large groups sit on the boards of other companies and have control, they can dictate to companies whatever guidelines they want. If these large shareholders want companies to promote DEI, then they will promote it. Because if they don’t, they will face the wrath of those who can cancel funding, cancel loans, cancel grants—all for money.

The same thing is true in Hollywood, where DEI has taken the industry by storm. At the Oscars, only movies that meet a certain quota get nominated, right? You have to have a certain number of black people or intersex, transgender, non-binary people.
